2 Down; 3 to Go

I'm reasonably pleased with how my faces are going.

On Friday and today I did a bit of an existential list of random events/words that form key moments of my life.

I wanted to print it out on material, representing how your experiences bind you in life, but there wasn't any at college so I forgot that idea. (So dedicated to my artistry). Instead I printed them out on brown and white paper.

That was interesting, because, after trying to decide whether to use the white or brown, I then roughly divided them into two sections: brown for the good bits, white for the bad.  It appears that my life has been pretty consistent: mostly good with some bad glitches pretty evenly spread along the way.

Who needs therapy when you've got Art Foundation!

I then pasted them onto a face. ('Should be your face for real integrity', Pete said). However, Annie and I have discussed this, and we think the face is featureless enough that it's not obviously hers. Although I do agree that putting my memories on my face, or Annie's on hers, would be better.

It was interesting pasting them on. Having been reasonably personal in what I wrote, I found myself doing a bit of a PR job. I was very glad that only half of one particularly honest word appeared and I hid some of my harder times around the sides. But, I was quite happy to have honesty and integrity on the end of 'my' nose - those being my two most important values.

Even Pete liked the final result. Called it 'thought provoking'. So I guess it must be ok.

I think I might put this head on scrunched up newspapers. I've never quite believed the 'today's news is yesterday's chip paper' theory. Others might forget it, but if it concerns you, you'll remember it (subconsciously or not) forever.

My rose head, I'm going to put on a flower photograph as it blends in but also stands out really well.

Finally, had three hours of life drawing first thing this morning.

Least said the better, I think. Although I guess the photo says enough. Big shame about the face. I did rub it out after taking this photo!
